A Summary of Our Position on the Facilities Planning Project
2. We are in favor of doing so with funds currently reserved for that purpose.
3. We wish to avoid incurring debt to fund the project if possible.
The Board Of Directors are currently planning the redevelopment of the Hartmann Golf Clubhouse and the Community Center. While we clearly see the need to update these two major amenities, the ultimate construction costs of this project should be clearly understood by the community before the project gets the green light to proceed. Even a modestly designed project will cost well into the millions of dollars. As this sum will be borne by the members of this community it is absolutely essential that the community be informed in advance what the price tag will be, and how it will be paid for.
The Board has hired the architect firm of Williams+Paddon at a cost of $125,810 for a preliminary design of this project, yet to date the Board has not given Williams+Paddon an upside price limit to guide the ultimate cost of construction. This is not how we would manage our own personal finances and we do not think this is an appropriate way to manage our community's finances.
